Week one done!

Good thing my mom packed so many tissue packets for the road! She made each of us a basket full of snacks and necessities for our long haul out to Colorado. Thanks, mom! As I was saying luckily they included multiple tissues packets, because I needed them those first few days!

As we were packing up I was thinking, “OK this is going fine. Mom seems in good spirits and we are joking around a bit, it’s going to be fine. We will all just say see you later.” However, I started to notice I was avoiding eye contact and so was she. We were close to having the cars ready to go after a wonderful week in Breckenridge and then… we made eye contact. I was still unsure at the moment what her reaction would be, but as I suspected she had tears in her eyes. Therefore I had tears in my eyes -immediately. I should have known, very typical of us! Lucky for me, I have the most considerate, loving and supportive mother who knew that she would not be able to say what she wanted to in the moment, and wrote a very special card telling us how excited and proud she is of us. Thanks mom 😊❤️

This was the moment though where it all hit me. All the “see-you-laters” prior to that one, I was exhausted and excited all at the same time; I really didn’t realize then exactly how big this change was going to be. So, over those first few days my sense of “my favorite people live too far away, what am I going to do?!” kicked in.

Baci’s face here pretty much encompasses my feelings!
And Bella is the content one. She loves this yard- already sunbathing!

Over time though, I know we will adjust and get very good at planning get togethers with family and friends — it’s a top priority! We will also grow in this new place, and find new hobbies and friends that will become just as cherished. All in all, I’m lucky and grateful to have so many loved ones to bring me home and to keep in touch with. Jason and I hold our friends and family close to our hearts and intend to keep it that way 😊

As for how things are coming along with the new house, there’s some progress! We are fortunate that Jason has some time before work starts for him, and he’s been so helpful getting us all settled! But we still have many boxes to go through. So stay tuned for more fun posts!

We have a sports living room and a comfy living room. Yippee!
I’m not sure if this face says “Why did you get this small chair?” Or “Will you please stop taking pictures of me.”

That’s all for now, hopefully we have more exciting things to share about Colorado soon! Sap story over!
