I Will Be an MLM Queen: When I Grow Up, I Want to Be Swindled, Part 1
That time I fell into a quick-money sand trap for a few minutes.
I was watching a story on Hulu last night called How I Got Played. The show featured three different stories:
- the first was about the woman behind the Who TF Did I Marry Tiktok series;
- the second was tricked into believing a government agency rep was helping her keep her family safe after her information showed up as part of a case they were working; and
- the third was taken in by a love-bomber.
I found it interesting that so many people reply that they’d neeevvvver get tripped up like that.
After all, didn’t the women see all those red flags?
they ask as they look over the tops of their reading glasses.
It’s easier than you think.
I’ll save my story about being smitten after not quite being love-bombed for later, but the thing is, these things happen to very well-intentioned people. I haven’t done any research on it, but I dare say that many of the folks who get swindled are from Westernized nations where the livin’ might not be easy but it’s certainly not super-hard.
