Everyone Can Inspire Someone

I’d been in Toastmasters for over a year. And what has kept me coming back is the opportunity to face the fear of public speaking regularly and inspire others to do the same along the way.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Toastmasters, it’s a public speaking club and it’s mission is as follows:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Now I can go into the importance of surrounding yourself with like-minded people and a supportive environment, but that’s a topic for another day.

Today, I’d like to talk about the fact that, even though I want to inspire others, I usually end up getting inspired myself.

I get inspired by how others are facing their fear of public speaking, making the commitment to grow themselves, and gaining more confidence with each speech.

I’m especially inspired by the newbies who are giving their first speech. Taking that first step.

I know what it’s like to take that first step.

Now, I also know that everyone can inspire someone.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
