Looks like Mozilla talks much but on practice do less. Got the latest version of FF, 55.0.2 (64-bit), running on Win8.1Pro, and it doesn’t spawn any new processes, even if when having over 200 tabs in 2 windows. Still runs in one process with over 70 threads. I’ve set up the dom.ipc.processCount to 4, restarted — but no effect.
More than this, FF freezes completely for ~10 sec from time to time when loading a page with Flash, and the whole window freezes, not just the busy tab.
It would be great to see actions, not just blog posts. Chrome indeed consumes too much memory, but at least it works!
Does it really matter that the process consumes less memory when it simply freezes for 10sec on a modern 8thread i7 CPU exactly when you need it?
