I agree with the idea of this article and with some points of it and do not agree with other points of it. And especially with preface…about starving artists who affected by streaming and piracy … — Yes, piracy is very bad! but streaming? Streaming could be good for everybody. It is just depends how it is organized - if it could be free choice by listeners — Great! If DJ’s deciding for you what you have to listen, almost like a radio? — terrible! So — Spotify and Apple music could be good for independent artists who have listeners.
2 point: Death of the context? — Music itself has to be a context. And if it is a context then all other things surrounding it are secondary. It is nice to have extra information etc. but if there no music itself then extra information would not change much…
point 3 and 4 — about commercial radio and media — I agree with author.
point 5 — ? Yes Music have to be related to other arts, but could Music itself be beautiful and deeply touching even someone without knowledge and education etc? Maybe we live in the age of Devalution of everything not just the Music? …
last two points 6–7 about games and music in schools? — it will be nice if schools would just make people familiar with all kind of Music — Art, Folk, Classical, Rock, Medieval etc. then …
