All true. We (https://www.vgw.co/) are another example of the distributed company working well. My colleges are literally spread all around the globe and the only minor problem — you really need to be aware of time zones.

In regards to “luck of face to face time” — we do once a year whole company get together (usually at some nice and warm place with blue ocean an complementary drinks). It helps a lot to setup and maintain meaningful social connections.
