Marathon vs. Sprint.

A marathon is a long-distance running race.

We all know it as the famous 26-mile run every mid to late 20-year-old in NY does in the fall /winter.

A marathon is difficult; no question.

It’s long and specific, and requires training.

A sprint is very different to a marathon.

It can almost be seen as the opposite.

It’s a short run at full speed.

I’ve long heard the saying: “it’s a marathon, not a sprint,” in reference to multiple things.

Ever since I started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I’ve heard it even more.

I’ve heard it with regards to investing, work, projects, hobbies and life in general.

Oftentimes, the good things take time and require hard work, patience and perseverance.

And oftentimes, the things that don’t, aren’t as important.

It’s like that old saying: “the sweet ain’t so sweet without the sour.”
