Black Cat

Black cat creeping, all day sleeping

All night prowling, always eating

stalking through the tall grass in the back yard

Long sharp claws to rip its prey apart

Licking on its fur, cleaning itself

Being a mouse in my house is bad for your health

Blue collared but you don’t do any work

You’re just trying to find insects to murk

Play fighting your brother, giving him hell

Two black cats scrapping sounds like a ringing bell

dumb friends pendant hanging down from their necks

If we didn’t pick them up they be laid to rest

If they cant find owners they are considered excess

They eat all the rodents and kill pesky pests

But my black cats purring, meowing in the morning

Scratching at my door ‘cause his food needs pouring
