Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook have just opened Internet.org platform to developers and entrepreneurs around the world. The goal of Internet.org is to offer basic internet services free of charge to as many global citizens as possible. In doing so, Facebook is hoping to offer Internet as a basic utility and provide internet services that are more transparent and inclusive. Dave Goldberg, SurveyMonkey CEO and husband of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, has passed away at age of 47. According to Wall Street Journal, Goldberg expanded the online survey company leading to a valuation of $2bn. Mark Zuckerberg described him as “an amazing person.”

1. Spotify, a Stockholm-based commercial music streaming service, has raised $350 million in a Series G round of funding led by Goldman Sachs. The company was most recently valued at $8.4 billion. www.spotify.com

2. Jawbone, a San Francisco-based audio technology company, has received $300 million in new funding deal from BlackRock. The company now has $700 million in total funding. www.jawbone.com

3. Infinidat, an Israel-based startup storage solution company, has raised $150 million in a Series B round of funding led by private VC firm TPG Growth and with participation from Israeli angel investor Zohar Gilon. www.infinidat.com

4. Beijing Weiying, a Beijing-based ticket booking app extention for WeChat, has raised $105 million in series B round of funding from investors WeChat maker Tencent, real estate giant Wanda Group, Chinese film investment fund Wenzi Huasha, Shandong Luxin Investment Holdings Group, Shanghai Gangtai Group, and ECapital. www.wepiao.com

5. Warby Parker, a New York-based online eyeglass retailer, has raised $100 million in Series D of funding. The round was led by T. Rowe Price. Wellington Management, Tiger Global Management and General Catalyst Partners also participated the round. www.warbyparker.com

6. Foodpanda, a Berlin-based global online food delivery marketplace, has raised $100 million in Series E round of funding led by Goldman Sachs. Existing investors, including Rocket Internet SE, also participated in the round. www.foodpanda.com

7. Dmall, a China-based hyperlocal shopping app connected with large supermarkets, has raised $100 million in angel funding from undisclosed investors. www.m.dmall.com

8. Refinary29, a New York-based largest independent fashion and style website, has raised $50 million in a Series D funding led by Scripps Network Interactive and the ad agency WPP. This gives the company $80 million in total funding and a $290 million valuation. www.refinery29.com

9. Circle, a Boston-based bitcoin brokerage firm, raised $50 million in a Series C of funding led by Goldman Sachs and IDG Capital Partners. Circle also announced it would start allowing customers to send, store and receive dollars as well as bitcoins. www.circle.com

10. Wahanda, a London-based online marketplace for hair and beauty, has raised $46 million in funding from the Japan-based Recruit Holdings and was joined by Davor Hebel, a Partner at Fidelity Growth Partners Europe. www.wahanda.com
