Life as a game.
Let’s assume for a moment that the world is a big jumbled mess of games. Games have players, rules, and outcomes. Let’s also assume that players prefer better outcomes to worse outcomes (but that players may not agree on which outcomes are better or worse).
Given these assumptions, I hypothesize that the best strategy to be a winner in the big game of life is to CHEAT.
CHEAT vs cheat
To cheat, according to the Oxford America Dictionary, is to “act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination.” That’s not what I’m talking about. In fact, I firmly believe that dishonest behavior is a poor strategy in the game of life. When I say CHEAT, I mean the strategy of focusing on Choices, House advantages, Experiences, Attitude, and Team.
My hypothesis is that if we do these things well and understand that the rest is either unimportant or out of our control, then we will emerge as winners in the game of life — something I’ll define in a future post.
My undertaking in this series of posts is to explore and better define CHEAT as a mental framework and strategy. Stay tuned and CHEAT well.
oh yeah: I definitely want to hear your comments and questions
