How to create your own career path

Create your own path and you’ll get ahead in the long term

If you’re deciding right now on a career path and are not sure what to do, try to think about what you want to do in 20 years from now. Try to think of this as the beginning of the pathway toward that. Don’t go for the money, rather go and create your path. Go for something that’s a long term investment. My startup company for me is not a short term gain but a long term success. I’ve been working on it for over 5 years and recently we raised funding and are looking at a potential big hit. But these things take a long time. “Overnight successes” don’t happen overnight. But what’s important is to enjoy the journey, love the challenges and the ups and downs and persevere. Because what’s best is the people you meet along the way, the lives you impact and the feeling of creating something out of nothing.

Just know, anything is possible if you put your mind to it. No one is all knowledgeable and you can really excel and get ahead if you focus on a path. Prioritize what you want to do and if you have no idea what you want to do, then go be a problem solver. Find problems (just like I did) and go after it. I had no idea I wanted to be a entrepreneur when I got to college. It just came from a frustration and questioning things and asking “why is it like that”? If you question things, you’ll learn why it is like that and areas for improvement.
