In this episode of the Penn Blockchain Podcast, Andrew Ciatto (Wharton ’20) chats with Professor Emin Gün Sirer about his work on a precursor to Bitcoin, the problems blockchains face, the Bitcoin Cash debate, and the dream for his new blockchain called Ava.

Professor Emin Gün Sirer is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Cornell University and the Co-Director of IC3, the Initiative for Cryptocurrencies and Smart Contracts. He is also working on Ava, an implementation on top of a new class of consensus mechanism called Avalanche hoping to create a high-throughput blockchain to address the current scaling challenges.
