Yes, those are sort of references (I’d never trust any article printed by a newspaper for serious scientific analysis though — I’ve been interview enough to know that reporters have no clue what they are hearing).

The article on the comet is interesting. If a professor presented that in class and said, ok, what’s wrong with the assumptions here, I think that would be a good assignment.

I was, however, more interested in the references for your original article.
