Smooth Jazz In Tune-Hold Off Cavs in Korver’s Debut

Kyle Korver is one of the greatest 3-point shooters of my generation. However, I couldn’t tell by watching him Tuesday night. He didn’t even total three points in his debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers; finishing with 2 points on 1 of 5 shooting. There was another white boy on the court who is no stranger to stroking the trey ball. He goes by the name of Gordon Hayward, and he is a bonafide superstar in this league. Once known for almost hitting the half-court buzzer beater against Duke, he has worked hard and polished his all-around game. He finished with 28 points on an impressive 10 of 12 from the field, including 4 of 5 from downtown and added 9 rebounds. The Utah Jazz are now 24–16 and are a force to be reckoned with in the West. With players like George Hill and Derrick Favors coming back from injuries, they are just starting to hit their stride. They also have one of the best centers in the league, if not the best, in Rudy “The Stifle Tower” Gobert. At just 24 years of age, the seven foot French sensation has made quite a splash this season with his impressive defense and his improved free throw shooting. The smooth Jazz are definitely in tune and are going to be a problem come playoff time.
