Wolves’ Wiggins Leads Pack to Victory With Game-Winner

There were lofty expectations for the Minnesota Timberwolves at the beginning of the season. With a young, talented and hungry roster full of studs and new Head Coach Tom Thibodeau, they were expected to make a lot of noise in the Western Conference. Sadly, they haven’t lived up to the hype and have had a disappointing season thus far. Most of their struggles have come in the third quarter in games. That’s odd because they have played very well in the first two quarters of play and have not lagged in the fourth. They are 17–28 and sitting in the twelfth seed in the Western Conference Standings. However, lately they have been playing some pretty good basketball. They are 6–4 in their last 10 games including a huge win Tuesday night in Phoenix. The hungry Wolves were led to victory by Andrew Wiggins big night including a game-winning buzzer beater! Wiggins finished with 31 points, while shooting 50 percent from the field. He also added six rebounds and three assists. With guys like Wiggins, Zach Lavine, Karl-Anthony Towns and Ricky Rubio, the future is still incredibly bright for this team. The average age on the team is still less than 26 years old. They just need to get more accustomed to their coach and his strict defensive style of play and I think next year they will make a deep playoff run.
