My point was that speculative buying behavior from people who put down more than one order seems like a trivial issue in comparison to the production challenge. Second Measure technology sounds interesting but in this case it doesn’t seem to matter much. As for the reason people are buying, I agree that a number of people may feel the way you described but if it takes 3yrs to get a car a lot can change in 3 yrs (competition gets better, oil prices can change, economy can go sideways, etc.). A number of market dynamics could cause people to start cancelling.

Personally, I am a huge Tesla fan so I hope they meet the 500K goal by 2018 and keep pushing the envelope in the auto industry.
