My thoughts are I couldn’t have put it better myself. I spent months thinking about alternate remuneration models for my shareholders (LP’s :-) in order to help solve this core problem, and didn’t come up with anything I felt was sufficiently differentiated.
Instead of changing the carry/fee model, 7percent Ventures is focusing iterating every other part of our product and service in an attempt to truly deliver on the promise of Founder Friendly, by baking it into our culture.
Our mantra is Help Not Hinder startups, which I trust Guy Kawasaki would approve of. This simple statement ensures any decision we make reflects the associated and appropriate values, because we believe that the Best value-add to startups + integrity = Best reputation = Best deal flow = Best returns to our shareholders, our investors, LPs.
