I don’t think that a simple personal declaration of a global perspective is enough. If “giving up on racism” is a rejection of the systematic racial prejudice that encroaches on every aspect of society, then that rejection cannot simply be “done.” It’s important to work daily towards being aware of racism, and one might not ever truly eliminate racism completely — but that’s not anyone’s job. Rather, I think it matters more to make the right attempt to remain cognizant of racism that does exist.
