Hunter Maats — When I went to Purdue, I studied philosophy, I was 32 and I already had 10 years studying privately under my belt — that was right after 9/11/01. I’m also a journeyman carpenter with 25 years experience building everything from stage sets & furniture to schools, hotels, restaurants and houses. I approached you on facebook after hearing the Rogan podcast because I truly believe in what you’re doing. I haven’t started reading the big things you suggest because I’m not about investing my time for folly. After just listening once to the podcast you posted today, I said to myself, “This guy needs a fucking attitude adjustment* we used to call it an A squared. If you want to promote MMA you need a sparring partner, pal — not trying to bust your chops, I’m sincerely trying to offer my help. I’ll step back & you do your thing if you have bigger fish to fry — I get it that you want to spar with Harris, mentally you’re on that level.
I’m getting ready to turn 47 this week — last year on my birthday I was in NC hanging out with my poet friend who just got her first book deal this week. She’s running a graphics arts shop & doing all kinds of cool shit. When I met her she was scatterbrained & caught up in the rat race. I’m not saying I did anything to help her, she already had all of the people she needed as far as Dunbar numbers go. you’re probably the same — all I’m doing is offering what you asked for from me. You ain’t gonna like it one bit, but if you’ll hear me out it might be just what you need!
