Keeping your employees happy and engaged

Spending 60% of your day with the same people in the same place five times a week can sometimes take a toll. That is why it is essential to know how to address workplace dynamics so that everyone is constantly improving, knows why they’re there and has more motivation to show up every year. Happier people work harder and if stress is reduced then they work longer as well. Here are some great ways to keep the team dynamics alive and well so that everyone can prosper.

Play Games

  1. Binder Clip Tag

This is where you have the opportunity to be sneaky and place a binder clip on another coworker without them noticing. Once they do notice, it is their job to pass if off to someone else. You can even put a wager on it where the person who loses has to dress in clothes of the winner’s choice or the winners have to buy drinks for everyone!

2. The gauntlet

This where you have two parallel lines facing each other and each employee takes turns walking down the “aisle” trying not to laugh or smile. It is everyone else’s job to be as goofy and silly and funny as possible to make them laugh or smile. Choose your rewards accordingly!

3. Scavenger Hunt

It’s always a good idea to flex those mental muscles and what better way to do that then through a scavenger hunt! Divide your office up into teams and set clues and prizes that are to be won while playing throughout the office (on the budget of your choosing). Either assemble a “scavenger hunt team” or look one up online to put it together.

Do Check-ins

Make sure you’re constantly checking in with employees on how they feel they are performing, what do they think of the atmosphere, and what suggestions they have for improvement. Humans are natural problem solvers and it’s essential to give people a chance to speak their minds on what’s missing/ what can be improved on within reason. Some of the best CEO’s in the world became that way by talking with people from the ground up, starting with the janitor if needed, and moving to managers and VP’s.

Post Photos and Goals around Office

Humans are products of our environments and being in positive environments will yield positive results. Therefore it’s important to constantly post goals the company is heading towards and the steps needed to accomplish them. It is also important to have photos of nature as that has shown to increase productivity as well. Finally, help the employees feel included! Post photos of their families and profile pictures and visuals that give them joy and proud to work for
