What you have to try in Brazil? — part 3

Keep the Brazilian dishes series going on (part 1 and part 2), some more tips of what you have to try in Brazil.

Feijoada: a stew of beans with beef and pork, a typical Brazilian dish. Feijão + the suffix ada, it means something like with a lot of beans.

Churrasco: generally, beef or grilled meat. It’s something that Brazilians usually make on the weekends and holidays, with family and friends. Many houses and even apartments in Brazil have a place to make a churrasco.

Arroz com feijão: in Portuguese, “arroz com feijão” means literally rice and beans. It’s one of most popular daily dishes in Brazil.

Farofa: toasted cassava flour mixture, though variants are made with maize flour, and flavors can vary. One of the lots of the African heritage in Brazil.

Chimarrão: a kind of tea with mate and boiled water, typical from the Southern region. You also see it in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.

X-salada: I’m not fan of fast foods. Anyway, x-salada is a kind of Brazilian burger, with tomato + cheese + ham + corn + peas + lettuce, etc. There’s also X-galinha (chicken), X-coração (heart of chicken), etc.
