I love Impossible Year on Death of a Bachelor. Yes, the entire album reflects Brendon’s excitement and everything leading up to his marriage, but then there’s Impossible Year. It talks about darkness, and tears and sorrow, just how hard the year was for him. By listening to the other songs, you wouldn’t know this. Yes, he got married and it was an amazing time for him, and everyone would assume that this would make it the happiest year ever for him. But Impossible Year shows that just because something really amazing happened, doesn’t mean that there weren’t bad times, heartbreak, and sorrow. Impossible Year shows this perfectly. Sometimes people only focus on the good things that have happened to you, as if you have no reason to be upset or sad about your life or anything else because something good happened to you or you have something they want. Yeah, maybe I was fortunate enough one or several days, but that doesn’t mean my life is perfect and my year was good. Too often people only skim the surface, not caring enough to learn more than just what scrapes the surface. If you really cared you would see the tragedy and heartbreak of day to day living. So yeah, although there were great times, doesn’t mean that it wasn’t also an impossible year. This describes last year so much. It is perfect. And not everyone would understand this meaning. And this is why I love Panic!. It takes a special kind of mind to really completely understand the deeper meanings in their music and outlook on life. *ALP
