Goal : meet 1 person every day

Co-working at Workshop17 , Cape Town

I needed an office away from home, so I looked at a couple of co-working spaces in Cape Town, and decided to give Workshop17 in the V&A Waterfront a try.

I set a goal to meet at least potential client / founder/ person of interest / interesting person / service provider / or someone I can help , everyday for the last week and it has gone pretty well.

Here’s a list of people I’ve met up with.

Jack O’Reily, Founder of Agreed— a Legal Service provider for that tech startups and creatives.

Danny Schaffer, Marketing Consultant for Hire — Don’t look wait too long, he knows what he is talking about.

Sisanda Henna, Actor and Producer — He offered and then just gave me half of his spicy chicken noodles. He is a celebrity.. I think. His company Diamond Hill, produces and sources financing for film and stories to document. Almost like a VC for local story-telling.

Johannes Le Roux, Brannas Draught — The first Brandy & Coke on-tap provider in SA. I know they’re launching a couple of other drinks soon, but if you ask him nicely, I’m sure he’ll tell you more about it.

Linda Mahloko, Taxify — He was down from Joburg, and told me all about how Taxify is taking on Uber in the taxi app world. I’ll give them a try because Uber is getting the slower and slower. ( Not the app but the drivers, eish)

Sarah Rice, Communications Expert for tech businesses — She seems to know everyone and is an old hand in the game of connecting people and helping them clarify their messaging.

A couple of other businesses who also work from here.

· Gummie — Hand picked local travel experience service

· Emagination — Excel automation software

· Over -a photo editing app. I still need to figure it out.

If you are already working from a co-working space, but need more work, check out FlexySkills — a platform that matches the right skill sets with growing businesses.

Also, do come say hi and lets introduce ourselves and talk shop for a bit.

The view’s not bad either …and they serve pretty good coffee — Deluxe Coffeeworks of course -just the way you like it. Ask for a D3W — 1 part espresso, 1 part hot water, 1 part micro-foam ;)
