That’s a huge red flag. If he has found a way to diagnose individuals with a DSM disorder by means of brain scans then he has essentially found the holy grail of psychiatric diagnosis which would revolutionize all of psychiatry. If he won’t share his research then something is seriously wrong with this picture.

I can’t comment beyond that without more details, but I cannot emphasize enough that what this would amount to is his having found biomarkers for mental disorders, biomarkers which the rest of psychiatry is unaware of. Not only would this be a monumental scientific breakthrough, but the implications for clinical practice would be revolutionary, and his refusal to share the research isn’t just suspicious from an academic standpoint, but it could seriously be hurting people throughout the world who could benefit from such clinical advances.
