Surrounded Soviets Resist the Nazis in ‘Fortress of War’
War Is Boring

Good, but it is still propaganda film. Sebastien rightly mentions, that fort’s Red Army crew was a fresh occupation force. Occupation so harsh, that in a few months of 1940 more than 100 000 Poles and other former Polish citizens were arrested and deported to Siberia (and huge umber perished during transport). Thousands Poles and Jews (!) run from persecution through the green border to the German side. In the same time 25 000 Polish officers were massacred in Katyn and Starobielsk forests. So it is difficult to be compassionate when SS executes commissars — both were from the genocidal, evil organisations.
