Ghost in the machine: Snapchat isn’t mobile-first — it’s something else entirely

No doubt Snapchat is dominating our Attention economy. I like your mention of the only inherent difficulty in using the platform is our lack of understanding of what it actually is. I see the update to memories creating a huge user spike and likely a shift in our experience on the app. That being said, the phone analogy is money. Though facebook has had messenger, Snapchat is the first place where we random users may adopt the iphone/andriod divide and experience seamless communication. The disappearing nature of the app makes communication present and real, and I think users will like that. Any thoughts on how Memories and uploading curated content will change the platform?
