The Birth (and Curse) of Institutionalized Religion

Great story! You’ve touched on one of the most powerful of our human tendencies, our “need” to control our world; it’s one we feel is a strength, but after the initial comfort and security of our institution with it’s “official” chain of command and hierarchy, it becomes clear to those who have eyes to see that it’s a poor substitute that only dumbs what it purports to represent. Over time, the “truth” becomes a commodity dispensed by those with power who use it to protect their position; and eventually, in the name of convenience, it becomes distorted and dumbed down and the honest, difficult and heartfelt quest is replaced by a spectator-based religion of attendance and adherence. Sad but true, and your story captures it all. Thanks :)
