The Agency at the University of Florida today published the biographies of 52 team members on a website to connect employers with graduates. Trained by a suite of professionals, the upcoming graduates have experience in a research-based integrated agency environment working on a roster of national and international accounts.
The Agency’s website features the students with bios and links to resumes, social media platforms, and personal websites and portfolios.
The Agency is preparing the next generation of advertising, public relations and digital leaders by giving them hands-on client experience and the opportunity to mentor with seasoned professionals. They understand how to conduct and analyze research using insights to create campaigns that resonate with the Millennial generation. It is a unique, well-rounded, teaching hospital type of experience.
The website is part of The 100 Project, a multi-faceted program to place 100 percent of The Agency’s team members in jobs at graduation. Other components of the initiative include one-on-one training to fine-tune leadership, resume writing and interviewing skills, and a series of networking trips to meet agency HR directors and to expose students to multiple job opportunities and professional connections.
This school year The Agency’s trips to New York and Atlanta included meetings with BBDO, Burson-Marsteller, Dentsu Aegis, DiMassimo Goldstein, Edelman, Fitzco, Golin, Grey, Horizon Media, Jackson Spalding, MediaCom, Moxie, Ogilvy, Peppercomm, Publicis Health, Wavemaker and 22squared, among others.
“Having the opportunity to experience the cultures and environments of different agencies helps us determine where we are interested in working,” said Victoria Najmy, a senior advertising major, manager of The Agency’s brand initiative, and coordinator of the Atlanta and New York trips. “I feel like the experience I’ve gotten through The Agency and the exposure to potential employers will give me a jump start in my job search.”
Last year’s graduates from The Agency were hired by several leading advertising and PR firms and brands, including Arketi Group, BBDO, Carat, Edelman, Force Marketing, Jackson Spalding, Facebook, Fleishman Hillard, Horizon Media, MediaCom and Saatchi & Saatchi, to name a few.
