WRIT 107T — Reflection Wednesday Writing
Reflect upon the contexts in which you write. What spaces/places are most/least productive for you? What genres do you write the most? How much time to you spend writing to communicate interpersonally; writing to aid your studying; or writing to compose polished documents for real audiences? What tools, strategies, or interfaces are important for your writing process?
As a student writer, I enjoy writing short, concise, to-the-point reports the most. I believe they are the most effective form of writing when it comes to delivering a message or instruction. As people are always busy, it is the best way to capture their attention while keeping a professional stance. When I first started to write business writing, it took a rather long time figuring out how to shorten all of the information into a few sentences.
As I have more practice and experience reading other business professional email, it takes less time. I still practice writing other types of genres which include: journalism, magazine, public discourse and more. A lot of these writing practices came from taking UCSB writing classes. The writing classes have helped me immensely in my writing. Learning the different genres allowed me to take my writing to another step.
