A Better Bucket List
He’s intercepted Soviet bombers over the arctic. He’s been an Air Force test pilot. He’s been to space three times — twice on the Space Shuttle and once on a Soyuz rocket to live on the International Space Station for 5 months.
When I went to see Cmdr. Chris Hadfield speak recently, I figured it would be a typical book tour appearance: read a chapter or two, answer questions, sign books. That may have been the initial plan, but it’s not every day that we land a probe on a comet, and he wanted to talk about that instead of read from his book, which was fine by me.
Most of the questions asked during the Q&A were pretty typical, but he handled them in the entertaining, educational style that he’s known for. And then, someone asked:
“You’ve done so much, what’s left on your bucket list?”
