Ah, this thing called poetry..

Dewi! I’m so glad you took the time to read these pieces—thank you for these comments. I think you’re in a similar boat to so many of us opening up Poetry in Form and being blown away by the number of forms… I know I was.

Because the study of rhetoric is so connected to the audience, that was really a big point that I tried to hit in this article, but again I think you stand with the majority when you say you don’t have a large audience and, presumably, write because it fulfills YOU, and not some other person reading your works.

And that’s the truth of any art form, from coffee tasting to writing poetry: the very first question you have to ask yourself is if you like what you’re tasting/writing/reading. If you like something you’re doing, nothing else really matters!
