Deep neural nets and the purpose of life
Nitin Pande

Very well thought out post, Nitin! I especially like the idea of everything being an experiment, an unfolding, a proving out of what works, what doesn’t… The basic idea of emergence of complexity from the iteration of simple rules has long been an exciting and intuitive notion. One of the boldest attempts to carry that idea forward was by Stephen Wolfram, the genius behind Mathematica and Wolfram Alpha. He speculated the laws of physics could be produced by cellular automata in his book, A New Kind of Science. It’s available online. Keep working on this idea! It will lead to something interesting.
