“If you don’t get my attention in the first 10 seconds, I won’t invest”

I can’t count the exact number of times I’ve heard this phrase, but it’s been a few since starting out and not just from investors. In the early stages of a company that’s a tough one because the pitch is but a dream, often one you can’t pen. Sometimes the rarity of an idea that’s first to market comes into play, hence a great 10 second money winning spin is hard to shoot across. How do you explain a product that has never been made before you make it? In my humble opinion, as entrepreneurs we are dreamers and creators, not a trained sales force for raising venture capital. No baby knows how to speak at his/her first day. Persistence however goes a long way, the learning curve in this game is steep.
