This painting was made by John Verlyn Santos, titled “Mga Papel Natin”. This was one of the entries in the Vision Petron art contest. This painting shows children playing with paper planes and other things made my paper. This painting conveys a deep message; it shows that children, especially those that are not in a wealthy family, tend to create their toys out of papers and create origamis. Children create things they want out of basic materials, like paper, since that is all they can. This painting wants the public to let children use their creative minds in creating something they want out of simple things. Give the children the freedom to do whatever they want to do and to be whatever they want and purposed to be.

Title: Nena and Nature

by: John Nikko Pelaez

This is a painting created by John Nikko Pelaez, titled “Nena and Nature”. I saw this in the calendar of Petron since this painting is one of the entries for Vision Petron contest. This painting contains different colors and designs where it presents scenic landscapes, forests, flowers, animals and diverse group of people. But there’s one thing common in all of them, they can all be seen in the Philippines. The overall painting shows how beautiful the Philippines is and how blessed we are having all those resources, scenic spots and the values of being a Filipino. This painting wants the public to appreciate the beauty of Philippines and to save whatever is left with the resources and to preserved it so future generations will be able to see it.

Title: Tulips

by: David Burdeny

This is photo was taken by David Burdeny, titled “Tulips”. I saw this image while passing through the different photos in the exhibit at De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde, School of Design and Arts campus. The first time I saw this photo, I thought it was just lines with different colors but when I saw its title, I began to think if there is something more special with this photo. I searched for this image and in my surprise, if you will zoom in you will see an image of tulips shot in an aerial view. It took David a lot of shots to take this beautiful photo because the winds were too strong. David simply wants the public to see the beauty of nature by capturing it in a unique way where audience will be amazed of how beautiful it is.

Title: The Storm

by: Paul Bride

This is a photograph titled “The Storm”. I saw this photograph while walking through different photograph exhibit in the School of Design and Art campus in De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde. I was amazed by this photo’s simplicity. If you’ll look at it, it just looks like it was drawn or painted but it’s not. It is a photo taken by Paul Bride. Since I was curious about how this photo was taken, I researched about it. He took this photo during a bad weather and two climbers went up the mountain just for Paul to take this amazing shot. Paul Bride is an adventure and travel photographer, he love to take photos in different places and to search out unique locations. This image maybe simple for those that do not know how it was captured but, it conveys a deep message for the public. This photo wants the public to see that despite there’s a bad weather, it won’t stop a person that really wants to achieve the top of the mountain. He wants the public to know that whatever obstacles life gives to them, there will always be a way up and a way to get through those obstacles if you will persevere and if you really want to get through it.

by: Jenna Gomez

This photo was taken by Jenna Gomez, an AB Photography student in De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde. This was one of the images presented in the exhibit at School of Design and Arts campus of DLS-CSB. The subject of her photos is the Aetas and that’s what I like about the images. The mere subject of her photos wants to present the audience the beauty of the Aetas and their uniqueness. According to her, “I want my photos to remove the foreign gaze from Aetas because I know they are subjected to that”. Her photos are more just simple images but those are something that fellow Filipinos should appreciate.
