I do not like the “laissez-faire, laissez-aller” attitude of this blog: passing IS important which of course, should not mean that one obsesses about it constantly but that it should be a goal of trans persons when it is at all feasible!
I am sure that as a trans person myself I have a most probably greater psychological burden in dealing with how I may be perceived than a cisgender woman has but that they too are under the spotlight often. In fact, I have had to learn to get used to men’s occasional cat calling of me and stares and that this is no different than it would be if I were a cisgender woman, or at least a pretty one, one giving cause to be stared at by men…or worse!
