Angels Baseball

With kids heading back to the classroom, the Angels Baseball Foundation welcomed 800 local students to Angel Stadium in an effort to provide them with essentials for the start of the upcoming school year. The Angels Baseball Foundation distributed new shoes, school supplies, Angels clothing items, and food from Second Harvest Food Bank to each child in attendance. The event served students from Anaheim Family YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim — Cypress, Project Access, OC Rescue Mission, and Easterseals.

Light That Baby Up! The Angels pull another one-run win over the Mariners, 2–1. Starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani hurled strong seven innings, giving up none and striking out nine and helped himself with an RBI double in the first inning. Relief pitcher Aaron Loup recorded his first save of the season delivering a clean ninth inning for the win.

The Angels delivered a thrilling win over the Mariners in the first of the four-game series after coming back from the road trip. Luis Rengifo went yard twice– his first of the career– from both sides of the plate! Mike Trout kept his hot-hitting since the return from the injured list, hitting his eighth home run in last 10 games!

The Angels defeated the Tigers Tuesday coming back in the extra innings, 5–4. Magneuris Sierra came in as a defensive substitution and delivered a walk-off RBI bunt single in the tenth inning! Starting pitcher Mike Mayers threw 5.2 innings only giving up two, and three Halos Mike Trout, Mike Ford, and Jo Adell went yard for the win!

The Angels shut out the Tigers, 10–0! Starting pitcher Jose Suarez delivered another season-high seven innings. In offense, Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout combined three home runs! Relief pitcher Zack Weiss recorded his first pair of strikeouts of his Major League Career.

The Angels battled through a tie game through the 12th inning and defeated the Astros, 2–1 thanks to Matt Duffy’s walk-off RBI single! Starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani delivered eight innings of work, only giving up one and relievers Jose Quijada, Jimmy Herget, and Ryan Tepera shut down the Astros hitters next four innings.

The Angels welcomed Anaheim Ducks players and mascot Wild wing for Ducks Night at Angel Stadium! The Ducks players and Wild Wing had a chance to warm up with the players and had defenseman John Klingberg throw a honorary first pitch. Despite the Ducks rooting the team, the Angels dropped the first of the three-game series versus the Astros. David Fletcher and Mike Trout had two hits each tonight.
