Providing people with the resources and knowledge to build and sustain their own garden can pay dividends. This idea is even more viable in suburban areas where there is more space around. In the suburbs, I see my parents and many of my other family members grow their own food in their backyards. I’m not exactly sure how the idea was incepted, but it supplements groceries with a dearth of fresh fruit and vegetables.
