It’s a New Season!!!

A very happy new month to YOU. Today we officially usher in the last quarter of 2016. Let’s thank God for the gift of life and His grace that has kept us alive to usher in this new season.

As I prayed about what God will have me share with you as we begin this last quarter of the year, the Holy Spirit kept on ministering the word TIME to me.

Colossians 4:5 says, “Use your time in the best way you can”(ICB).

Rick Warren the best selling author of the record setting book “The Purpose Driven Life” writes: “Time is our most precious resource. It’s far more important than money. You can get more money, but you can’t get more time. You only have a certain amount allotted to you in this life. You can’t make time, you can’t borrow time, you can’t save time, you can’t extend time. You can only use it. We all have the same amount of time every week: 168 hours. If we don’t learn to manage our time well, we cannot manage anything else in our lives This is because your time is your life’’.

The Bible tells us exactly what we should be doing with our time in Acts 20:24: “My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus” (NLT, second edition).

God wants to use you. God has a special plan and a prepared place for every one of His children but He wants us to invest our time in the most important things-God’s plans and purposes for your life. Use your time in view of eternity. You’ve got to ask yourself, “How much of what I’m spending my time on is going to count five or 10 years from now? How much is going to count in eternity?” Then after answering that question, one needs to refocus.

The Bible is filled with metaphors that teach about the brevity of life. Life is described as a mist, a fast runner, a breath, and a vapor.

To live intentionally and make the best use of your life, you must never forget that life compared with eternity is extremely brief. I love how King David, the psalmist says:

“Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered — how fleeting my life is.” — Psalm 39:4 (NLT)

“I am here on earth for just a little while.” — Psalm 119:19 (TEV)

Bonnie Ware an Australian hospice nurse and a blogger whose inspiring memoir “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying”, which has connected with hearts all over the world, with translations in 27 languages made the following observations as a hospice nurse.

As a hospice nurse her job is to spend the last 12 weeks of someone’s life with them. Some time ago she began asking her patients: “Do you have any regrets?”and “Is there anything you would do differently?”

When asked these two questions common themes surfaced again and again. In this devotional I will deal with the most common regret of all which was this:

# Regret — “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”

Bonnie Ware said this was the most common regret of all expressed by the patients she spoke to. When people realized that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. There are so many things they wished they would have done. Most people had not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that is was due to choices they had made, or not made.

So in this new month I want to encourage you to live with intentionality. Continue to learn. Do what you love. I dare you to dream again. God is not done with you yet. God called Moses at the age of 80 to lead the children of Isreal out of Pharoah’s captivity and into their Promised Land.

What a privilege that the God of heaven has chosen you for this next season. Know that you were born for a cause bigger than yourself and that you are destined for greatness. There are countless lives who are counting on your obedience to walk in what God has also called you to do in this season so that they too can become all that God has called them to be.

I pray that you stay confident in your calling this season and reflect on the victories that you have wrought so far by the power of God at work in your life. God is a good God, who wants to bless you and has made every provision available for you to fulfil your destiny in Him.

Be patient with God.

‘… imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised’-Hebrews 6:12(NIV)

God is not done building your life into a work of art. You are precious and priceless to God. Trust in His timing. You.Are.Loved.

My prayer for you in this new month is that you wake up and put all your attention into what God has called you to do.

Happy New Month,

Lots of love & best wishes for October,
