GPTs Can Now Talk to Each Other

Did you know your GPTs can now talk to each other? I think this is a hugely underrated result of OpenAI’s ChatGPT release yesterday.

If you use ChatGPT Plus you can now bring any GPT into your chat by typing ‘@’. This means you can string together a process where one GPT talks to another GPT and builds upon the conversation.

I demonstrate starting with one idea:
☘ Houseplant Care App
✏ GPT #1 Generates 10 app ideas
📋 GPT #2 Takes those 10 ideas, runs a virtual workshop, narrows the 10 ideas down to one
📈 GPT #3 Uses the virtual workshop summary to create a product vision board and recommends the next steps

From concept to ideas to output in <5 mins.

I believe we will shortly see GPTs for research, discovery, development, support, etc., strung together to make pseudo-processes supported by AI. Running with the houseplant idea, I could have another GPT jump in to start creating user stories, another to help with crafting a marketing landing page, and so on. All without needing to explain the concept every time, because it all exists within a single chat.

Could you do all of this with prompting? Maybe. But it would take a lot longer and wouldn’t leverage any custom data you store in your GPTs.

I will keep experimenting with this idea and look forward to what everyone else discovers.
