With a PayPal account, you may send or receive money from anywhere in the globe for a sufficient transaction charge. It is only an online payment platform that enables quick and secure financial transactions online. So if you want to work online or run an online business, knowing how to accept money with PayPal in Nigeria is a smart idea.

You can use your PayPal account to make online purchases on different e-commerce platforms in addition to receiving and transferring money. This method of payment is accepted by online stores like Amazon, eBay, and Alibaba.

What is Paypal?

PayPal launched in 1998, It’s an international financial business company that provides money transfer services globally. Most of its users are from different parts of the world and either send or receive funds online. What you need to know about receiving money in Nigeria via a PayPal account is outlined below.

  • Create a PayPal business account because personal accounts cannot be used to accept money.
  • In order to make online transactions, connect your bank account, credit card, or debit card to PayPal.

How to open a PayPal account in Nigeria

Go to paypal.com/Is on your browser https://www.paypal.com/ls

And click on the menu on the left hand side, then scroll down a bit and click on sign up.

Take note that they are two type of PayPal account, they are personal account and the business account. So the business account is what you are going to create.

Click on the business account to continue to the next page where you are going to enter your email address and password.

Please take note that the email address you would use to sign up is the email address that you have not use to sign up or try to open an account on PayPal before.

The password you are going to create, make sure it contains capital letters, numbers and symbols.

After you have entered your email address and your password click on continue to go to the next page where you have to fill in your personal information.

And make sure that any information you fill in, is the same as the one on your ID card or voters card.

After filling the necessary information, click on agree and continue to take you to the next page where you would select your business type.

When selecting your business type click on “sole proprietor” then it will ask you to enter your product or services keyword. Put down anything you can remember.

After that go to the next page and enter your date of birth as the same on your voters card, then enter your country & identity document which is your ID number.

So that is all, after that, click on Submit and your PayPal account that can send & receive payment in Nigeria is created successfully.
