1.1 APP Idea
This is my first ever blog and I’m writing this as a part of my internship task at Hasura. Before I proceed further, I want to let you know what is Hasura and what it exactly does.
Hasura is a batteries included platform for building and deploying powerful backends. Instant APIs for data, auth & file handling (powered by Postgres). Hasura helps you deploy your custom code written in any language/framework. Runs anywhere: your laptop, your VM, your cluster on the cloud. In simple words if development is a boat then Hasura is its sailor, if development is salt then Hasura is pepper and finally if development is love then Hasura is trust. Development and Hasura goes together.
You might be wondering why we are required to write down our internship progress as a blogpost? Let me tell you our PM (Prime Mentor) Tanmai Gopal has dreamt of a plan — “One Internship Task One Blogpost” much similar to our PM (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi’s “One Rank One Pension”. 😃 And we really think its a masterstroke for improving our skills as well as development habits as professionals.
Now, coming to the core idea of this blogpost, we are upto the development of an app based on our own idea being Hasura interns. It is 8 weeks internship and we are desired to build a 3-screen app (web or mobile) using Hasura platform in the stipulated time.
“skillO”- Introduction :
I’m building a mobile app named “skillO”. It is a skill sharing platform where people can share their special skills (like - photography, dance, music, dubsmashes, vines, etc.) in the form of photos, videos, audio and blogposts and connect with other people based on their interests.
Why skillO? :
You might be thinking there are plenty of apps and platforms already in the market for sharing things with each other (instagram, youtube, facebook) but I think none of them are exclusive to showcase the skills of an individual. My vision is to establish this as a platform where people can get identified based on their talents and they do not require anything more than just a @username of skillO to tell their friends and colleagues how cool they are 😉. Afterall everyone is cool in their own way 😋.
What will skillO do for you? :
Obviously it will do wonders 😄. You will get a fair chance to stand out of the crowd. It will give you an opportunity to arrange the bests in you at a unified place and vanishes the overheads of searching your true skills from different places. skillO will be a medium to discover yourself and let people discover you at the same time. 😊
