Shigure Kai is an upgraded Shiratsuyu Class Destroyer fleet girl that is named after an actual Japanese World War II warship. In game she can be obtained pretty easily and you won’t want to miss adding her to your collection. She’s a must have for any Admiral to have in their fleet!
Unless you are in Japan, you may not be familiar with the popular battle simulation game Kantai Collection, or KanColle for short. It is an awesome game designed to allow you to play as an Admiral that has to build up your fleet with famous warships and aircrafts from Japan in World War II. Each of these warships and aircrafts are represented by cute girls in the game called “fleet girls.”
They each have specific attributes to help you strategically win at this anthropomorphic style battleship game. While the browser game is only available in Japan, KanColle has gained global popularity through its mangas, animes and other game versions, including a tabletop card game that acts very much like the fleet girl cards in the original browser game.
Shigure Kai represents a Shiratsuyu Class Destroyer, which are great for night fights and torpedo cut-ins. Her versatility has made her a fan favorite whether you are playing one of the many games, reading one of the mangas or watching the anime series. It’s no wonder a figure of her is now available for pre-order. This new 1/8 scale figure retails for ¥13,500, stands approximately 21 cm tall and is based on an official illustration of Shigure.
She’s magnificently sculpted by Kaoru Sakaki. He truly brings her to life in many different aspects starting with her stance to show off a somewhat upset demeanor. A feeling of movement can be felt with her sailor outfit blowing in the wind, a smoke trail in front of her from her gun, and her hair blown off to one side.
The paint job does a great job too of creating aspects of wear and tear throughout her outfit and accessories.
What truly brings her to life are her two interchangeable faces though. A somewhat embarrassed look can be switched for a teary-eyed version to truly get the feel of the illustration she is based off of.
Pre-orders for the Shigure Kai-II Figure by Broccoli are now open. You won’t want to waste time as she is sure to be a hit with fans around the world. She’s a great choice for any Admiral and is sure to bring you luck in any battle!
