Why content sharing might just be good for business.

There’s a lot of theory here, and not a lot of examples.
Ideologically, I’d like to believe that licensing content using Creative Commons licenses is actually good for business, but the only example I could find in the article was the Wikimedia Foundation — which is a highly atypical organization.
Could you include some examples of where this has worked in real life (e.g. SpaceX)?
