Well, mastering Kubernetes isn’t an easy task, but knowing how it works is different. There are two approaches to Kubernetes, the first is to understand how it works by creating your own cluster, and the second is to just use it. But using K8s doesn’t only mean deploying projects on it, it means managing the resources, creating your own resources, managing access and so on. I’d say that about a couple of months are enough to feel confident on knowing K8s enough to create a working cluster from scratch. Then I’d add a few more months to know how it works in detail, what its components are and how they interact with each other, how to extend Kubernetes and managing it the best way.
