The word ‘DEAL’ and its misuse

Is anyone as irritated by the misuse of this word?

Deal refers to ‘cards’. Dealer would you please deal the cards?

I want this word stricken from media usage!

This word in the context upon which it is used is INAPPROPRIATE!

The word ‘Deal’ when discussing negotiations, agreements, contracts is just that — we’re considering an Agreement, Contract, or Arrangement.

In every instance, this word is misused and sounds as if an ill-informed individual has NO IDEA how to use it.

Thoughts?

Is anyone as irritated by the misuse of this word as I?
