A lot of people complain that they are not getting enough interview and blame the HR for not getting back, so where is the problem? why are you not getting enough calls although you are fully qualified?

I have created a list of 7 bad practices that might not get you enough interviews

  1. Sending resume without enough information
It sounds very simple and silly but trust me a lot of people get rejected in this phase, why? here is the answer check out these two emails that will prove my point
Mail without content
Mail without subject or content

A resume without any subject or content reflect the lazy unprofessional behaviour of a candidate, how can some expect to be the right fit if he/she can’t write a single line, it shows how serious a person is towards his/her job.

2. Creating a messy resume

I received this resume couple of weeks before and was shocked to see such a messy resume, It’s too tough to actually understand what was written in the resume, after telling the candidate that it was very messy she got pissed and started telling me how much hard work she put to create the resume and her resume is perfect. It was my fault to even tell to change it, Hr will directly reject a non readable resume.

3. Applying for the wrong job

When a company says they are hiring marketing engineer that means they are not hiring for Java developer, a lot of people just randomly send their resume even if it is not a relevant job for them, make sure you apply for the right job and your skill matches for the job you apply for.

3. Not reading the Job description

Most of the hint can be found just by reading the job description make sure you read the job description before you even apply.

4. Not researching about the company

Even this point shows how serious you are towards the job, also researching about company gives a lot of bonus point, Simpleread about the company and the product if they A simple way to find this ? read the About us page for a company.

5. Not open for suggestions

When you are looking for a job and forward your resume, companies will at times ask you to modify your resume so be prepared for it and make changes as different companies, organisations have different requirements when it comes to resume.
