I agree. The touchbar and butterfly actuated keyboard are complete showstoppers for me. Their intentional handicaping of the models without the touchbar are also completely anti consumer. I simply dont want it, why should I pay $300 for a touchbar I dont want and gets in my way just to get the Core i7 CPU (limited to 2.5 GHz vs 3.5 GHz of touchbar equiped model), 16 GB of RAM, and two more ports (limited to 2 thunderbolt ports only on non touchbar model). Thats compeltely stupid. If its such a “must have feature” have it an option accross the spread and people will opt for it on their own. THAT would be courage. By not doing that you’re just falsely equating uptake and adoption becuase there is no other dang choice. Its anti customer and a punishment.
Remapping or pushing vim profiles accross an environment isn’t an option for someone like myself who cannot push my personal profile accross a production environment just because my laptop wants to be a jerk.
