An IP address is simply an address used to identify a device over the internet known as a “IP address” or “Internet Protocol”.

In simple terms, when an IP address (which is the address of your device) can communicate with the internet by sending data packets and receiving information in the form of packets, the packets/information are only received with the help of the device IP address; otherwise, the device cannot get information from the internet without an IP address.

Because of IP address A device’s can able to connect with other devices on the internet depends on having an IP address, which saves some information about the device’s location. It is known as “IP address or we can say Internal Protocol”.

Types of IP Address

There are mainly four types of IP address:

  • Public IP
  • Private IP
  • Static IP
  • Dynamic IP

Public IP

A public IP address, also known as an IPv4 address, it is an address that can be accessed via the internet. A public IP address is required for any resource in your tenancy that must be directly accessible from the internet in order to fulfil its purpose. There may be more needs, but it all depends on the kind of resource being used. It is known as “Public IP”.

Private IP

Internal IP addresses, in contrast to public IP addresses, are only valid within a single network, such as a local area network (LAN). This IP address range, unfortunately, is not connected to the internet. Private IP addresses cannot access data or programmes on computers or other devices outside of the local network. It is known as “Private IP”.

Dynamic IP

In the world of Internet Protocol addresses, “dynamic IPs” are short-term addresses that can be swapped out as necessary. If you have a dynamic IP address, it implies that your internet service provider changes it every time you reconnect to the web after being disconnected. The term “Dynamic IP” is used to describe this phenomenon.

Static IP

A static IP address is a 32-bit number assigned to a computer as an internet address. When a static IP address is allocated to a device, the address does not change. The majority of devices use dynamic IP addresses, which are allocated by the network upon connection and change over time.
