By A Staff Reporter : Under the new excise policy, restaurants, bars and hotels will be kept open for two hours more than the previous time.The matter has been informed through the guidelines regarding excise policy of Chandigarh in the financial year 2021–22.According to the new schedule, restaurants, bars and hotels can be kept open till 3 am.After a detailed presentation by Governor Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit, Administrator’s Adviser, Finance Secretary-cum-Secretary (E&T), Deputy Commissioner-cum-Excise and Tax Commissioner and other senior officers of Excise Department, new for 2022–23 Excise policy approved. Target of this policy is to balance the aspirations of consumers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and the government. According to the new excise policy, Pilfer Proof Seal has been made mandatory in the country to prevent counterfeit liquor.
