Four Great African Empires That Astonished the World
Ben Thomas

Ben, this is just incredible writing and history. It would be absolutely amazing if you could create a version for young readers, mostly a picture book; one for around middle-school age; and another for high schoolers.

So many kids today learn about African history only as Ancient Egypt (as you note), with nothing much happening before or after until the intercontinental slave trade, and after that, Africa is more or less the Middle East up north and people starving in the sub-Saharan regions.

Books that show this vibrant and independent history and teach the lessons that we still need to learn today would be invaluable in the curriculum and in school libraries, as well as for leisure reading.
